David Carnevali

Senior Editor, Americas

David Carnevali is a senior reporter for Activistmonitor. He writes about shareholder activism and M&A across all sectors in North America, with a particular focus on live campaigns, potential targets and corporate governance matters.

 

Previous Experience

Prior to moving to New York, he was based out of the London office, where he covered M&A and ECM for AM’s sister publication Dealreporter. He started his journalistic career in Milan working for a financial newswire called MF-Dow Jones.

 

Education

David graduated in foreign language in Rome and holds a post-degree in translation.

Alessandra Castelli

Editor, EMEA

Alessandra leads the Activistmonitor’s EMEA operation. Based in London, Alessandra is also focusing in identifying new content sets within the public markets. She has over 13 years of experience in financial journalism having covered large scale of M&A deals.

Previous experience

Alessandra joined Acuris in May 2004 as research analyst. Since then she has worked on both Mergermarket and Dealreporter editorial teams, first as Head of Italian coverage, then Deputy Editor and Editor of Dealreporter. Alessandra previously worked as a training lawyer for a Milan-based law firm.

Lucinda Guthrie

 Deputy Editor in Chief

Lucinda manages a team of journalists who cover breaking news on corporate events involving listed companies globally. Her team provides intelligence for the equity and fixed income markets that is tailored to hedge funds, proprietary trading desks, security lending, ECM syndicate desks and institutional fund managers.

Previous experience
With thirteen years’ experience of business journalism, Lucinda has reported on markets and corporate events in Europe, Latin America and Asia. Lucinda joined Acuris in 2006 and, before managing the European editorial team, she was deputy editor for Dealreporter Asia.

Shia Kapos

Senior Reporter

Shia breaks news, advances business intelligence and profiles key players involved in the contentious world of activist investing.

 

Previous experience

She comes to Acuris after 12 years writing about C Suite executives for the Chicago Sun-Times and Crain’s Business. Shia’s profiled billionaires Ken Griffin talking about how he got his start in hedge funds, Sam Zell’s earliest entrepreneurial endeavors, and Morningstar’s Joe Mansueto stepping up as a soccer coach. She’s also taken a hard look at how organizations operate, including uncovering how the Illinois Sports Facility Authority lost $1.2 million in taxpayer money. Shia previously held general assignment reporting positions at People magazine and the Chicago Tribune and also served as Business Editor and then Political Editor for the Salt Lake Tribune.

Craig Kelly

Head of Sales - Europe

As Head of Sales for Activistmonitor and PaRR in Europe, Craig applies his detailed knowledge of antitrust and activism to drive sales and manage the sales team.

Previous experience

Before he joined Acuris in 2012, Craig spent several years leading sales teams at many global consultancy and research businesses across EMEA and Australia.

William Mace

Senior Reporter, EMEA

William has reported on high profile activist campaigns in EMEA and has has reported on high profile activist campaigns in the region.  William also regularly moderates panel discussions between activists and activism experts at conferences across Europe and appears regularly as a commentator on CNBC.


Previous experience

Prior to joining Activistmonitor in 2016, William was senior reporter for Dealreporter covering M&A transactions. Before that, he spent five years reporting for the business pages of New Zealand’s largest publisher, Fairfax Media, covering everything from High Court fraud cases to M&A situations.

Ed Mullane

Editor, Americas

Ed heads the activism team in North America, leading a focused group of reporters covering many of the more complex and contentious campaigns in the public markets.  Based in New York, Ed has participated and moderated many of the leading panels in activism and is now increasingly spending more time expanding coverage of environmental, social an d governance issues.     

Previous experience
Joining Acuris in 2006, Ed participated as a reporter in the launch of the Dealreporter product in the US,   covering M&A, activism, and regulatory matters. Ed has also served as sector editor for the technology, media and telecom group for both the Dealreporter and Mergermarket news services . He has been writing on business since 1986 as a journalist and analyst.

Ben Rumble

Head of Sales - EMEA

As Activistmonitor's Head of Sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Ben applies his detailed knowledge of the M&A process to driving sales and managing the EMEA sales team.

 

Previous experience

Before he joined Acuris in 2007, Ben spent three years as an Associate for Shield Corporate Finance where he specialised in sell side M&A.

Kurt Viehl

Head of Sales - Americas

Based in New York, Kurt is responsible for the commercial efforts within the Americas, including product and business development, subscriber management and retention. He applies a consultative and detail oriented approach towards driving growth across the region.
 
Previous experience
Prior to joining Acuris in 2010, Kurt worked for Bureau van Dijk and Reuters, focusing on consultative sales and Economic analysis.
